This appointment demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to identifying and attracting outstanding legal talent, and to enhancing its client-centric service offering.

Eric brings more than 20 years’ experience as a trusted adviser to Australian and international corporate and private clients, including multinational, listed, government and not-for-profit organisations. He joins Madison Branson Lawyers having practised in both private practice and in house roles in Australia and overseas, experience that provides him with unique insight into business operations and the importance of a collaborative, teamwork-based approach, particularly in multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural scenarios.

Eric also brings substantial experience across global markets, with significant experience in the GCC. Having practised in the region, he understands how transactions are structured and negotiated where sovereign investors, family conglomerates and state-linked groups sit on the other side of the table, and the regulatory, commercial and cultural dynamics that determine whether they complete.

Eric’s appointment is also a deliberate step for the Madison Branson Group. We continue to see growing demand from clients whose interests span Australia and the Gulf, and Eric’s experience positions him to lead that work as our international capability develops.

Eric is recognised for his responsiveness and client service delivery, combining strong technical skills with a commercial focus to execute transactions and achieve his clients’ objectives. His practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions (public and private) and joint ventures, equity and private capital raising, business establishment and structuring, inbound foreign investment and associated regulatory approvals, and corporate governance and regulatory investigations, with particular depth in the automotive sector.

“Eric’s appointment is an important step in the continued growth of our Corporate and Commercial practice,” said Simon Tsapepas, Group CEO and Managing Partner. “Our clients are bringing us increasingly complex work, such as cross-border acquisitions, control transactions and structured joint ventures, and Eric has spent two decades doing exactly that work at the highest level. He has also sat in-house and carried the commercial consequences of his own advice, which is a perspective clients value greatly.”

“Madison Branson Lawyers has quickly built a practice with a continuing emphasis on technical excellence and a genuine commitment to outstanding client service,” Eric said. “I was drawn to and I am excited to be at a firm where clients have a clear, direct line to the partner and team doing their work. I look forward to leading and building the Corporate & Commercial practice here alongside a team with considerable ambition and commitment.”

Eric’s arrival reflects the continued expansion of the Madison Branson Group and its commitment to delivering integrated legal, capital and corporate advisory services to clients in Australia and abroad. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm.
